I found it so liberating and comforting that God was witnessed and honored in the female form as opposed to other religious teachings I was raised on; this led me to discovering Yoga. The Yoga Asana practice brought so deeply into my body and spirit- it felt like the world was now in colors and textures I had never seen before. I devoted my heart to becoming one with Yoga, beyond the physical. I have sat in silence on many retreats, in ceremony, taken classes by the teachers who inspire & humble me; I traveled all over the world to honor, integrate and embody what Yoga truly reminds us of. I have been studying, practicing and teaching for over 12 years now and am truly so in love with this Ancient wisdom & way of life. Through Yoga, I found Ayurveda. Ayurveda united my passion for food & intention. Ayurveda guides us to get to the root of our experiences in the mind, body & spirit; with the healing magic of what Mother Earth provides. I often refer to the great mystery of life like a spider’s web.. weaving wider and wider with every single thread. The threads being our desires, inspirations, calls of service, friends, ancestors and dharma. As my web grew (& continues to grow) the sacred plant teachers sang my name. I have had the honor of learning about plant medicines, studying under Shamans, Indigenous people, and many divine women. It is truly my honor to serve these medicine, do the work to decolonize, and continue to learn from these sacred plant ancestors. Hapé & Kambo truly have brought me home to myself in so many ways I didn’t even realize. These medicines have truly saved my life.. clearing away the darkness that clouded my vision so that I could finally recognize the Woman I am meant to be. To walk closer in union with God & Great Mother Earth. Which leads me here.. Birth Work. The most technicolor transient work that fills my heart up. To be in service and care of Women, Mothers, Sisters during their most powerful, wild & vulnerable time. It started when my best friend asked me to be present for her birth, the most sacred invitation. This awakened a part of me that my soul was awaiting me to discover, this is what inspired me to study with the Child Birth Institute and become a PostPartum Doula. Continuing my studies with Andean & Mayan postpartum rituals under the care of Indigenous women, learning belly binding, “closing of the bones”, womb massage and so much more… I believe the journey of becoming Mother starts way before conception, it is how we embody love, regulation and surrender. Weaving together dieta, ayurveda, plant medicine and movement (yoga,breathwork,voice activation,somatics) is how we transform into “Mother”, prepare the heart, womb and spirit for this journey. The sacred window or golden month after birth is my favorite time. It is the 4th trimester (42 Days). This time is where the world is slow, intimate and soft. Mothers need the upmost care. This is the biggest hormonal shift a woman will go through and a portal that once you cross over, you are never the same. Without the devotion to the Mother, what is left? This is why I am honored to serve Women in this time.
